Lakeshore Friends,

Let’s face it — common sense doesn’t feel so common anymore.

We’re surrounded by opinions, advice, and quick fixes. Open your phone and you’ll find a thousand voices telling you what to think, how to live, and who to listen to. But for all the information we have access to, many of us still find ourselves asking, “What’s the right thing to do?” or “Why does life feel so confusing?”

That’s where the book of Proverbs comes in. It doesn’t offer trendy answers or surface-level advice. Instead, it gives us something better — wisdom. Not just knowledge. Not just facts. Wisdom that is deeply rooted in God’s character and His design for how life works best.

On Sunday, we’re launching a new series called Uncommon Sense: Wisdom for Life from Proverbs. We’ll explore practical, time-tested truths for real-life situations — things like:

  • How to develop strong character

  • What healthy relationships look like

  • Why our words matter

  • How to handle anger

  • What it really means to trust God

This series isn’t about collecting more information. It’s about learning how to live wisely and making decisions that are rooted in God’s wisdom, not just our own feelings or what’s trending. Proverbs gives us a roadmap, one that’s principled, practical, and perceptive. It helps us think clearly, walk confidently, and build lives that are grounded, not reactive.

So if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the noise of the world—if you’re tired of confusion and chaos—or if you just want to grow in living out your faith in the everyday, this series is for you.

Let’s rediscover a common sense that is a bit uncommon these days.

See you Sunday.
