The Thursday Update

Hey Lakeshore!

 

This week we are starting our summer series, “The Parables of Jesus” and we will kick it off with a famous one.  Songs have been written about it, people quote it, we have different things hanging on our walls stating it.  The Firm Foundation on which we stand- Christ.   But as I prepare this message for our gathering on Sunday, this study has been more convicting than expected, and I'm realizing how difficult it is for us to dive in and follow what Jesus actually said.  

 

If being in ministry for 20+ years has taught me anything, it’s that many people have many different ideas on what it means to be a follower of Jesus.  Some ideas are great, others, not so much.  But the truth is, at the end of the day, we have only 2 options when it comes to Jesus.  That’s it- a basic choice that has immediate and eternal consequences.  While it’s simple in nature, it has profound ramifications.

 

So let me ask you this one question…when you hear the truth from God, what do you do with it?
