MAKING WAVES 2025 • LEARN MORE »

INFANTS – FIFTH GRADE
We believe we're called to share God's love with everyone, including kids.

In Lakeshore Kids, we teach your kids about the God who loves them in an exciting, age-appropriate, and safe environment.

Through Bible lessons, interactive activities, crafts, games, and play, children build friendships with each other and apply what they are learning in their lives.

Programming is available during Sunday services and Midweek Bible Study.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHILDREN'S DIRECTOR

Hi Parents!

My name is Jill Freese and I have the pleasure of leading Lakeshore Kids. Our team is excited and ready to welcome your kids and to share God’s love and the truth of the Bible with them.

We provide an environment that welcomes all kids, giving them a place to belong and to be themselves. Our lessons are designed to engage your kids in not only knowing who God is, but also in developing their relationship with Him.

Our team places a high value on you, as parents! You are the primary influencer in your child’s life. It’s a privilege to encourage you and provide resources for you in your parenting journey. If you have any questions about Lakeshore Kids, please feel free to contact me directly, either via email or phone.

What to Expect

Wondering about what your family's first visit to Lakeshore Kids will look like? Read below to find out more about what you can expect on a Sunday morning! Have questions? Check out the FAQs.

Arrival, Check-In,
& Pick-Up

When you arrive, you'll need to check in your kids and receive name tags for them that have the same security code as your parent pick up tag.

The check-in area is just through our main entrance in the atrium. We've tried to make this process a breeze, but if you need help, we have team members ready to assist you!

TIP: To save time, you can pre-register your family here.

During
Services

Classrooms open 15 minutes before our main services begin. Your kids will have a blast with plenty of opportunities to learn, play, and worship.

To best serve your kids with programming that's appropriate for their age, we use these groupings: Nursery, 1 and 2 year olds, 3 to 5 year olds, Kindergarten to 1st grade, 2nd to 3rd grade, and 4th to 5th grade.

Options for
your Family

While we encourage all parents to involve their children in Lakeshore Kids classes, we understand many families have unique needs, so we've provided some options to best serve you.

We have space in the atrium for kids that may need some room to roam. You're also welcome to keep your kids with you in the auditorium or join them in Lakeshore Kids classrooms.

Have Questions?

We know you may have questions about attending church for the first time, especially with your kids. Here are some common questions we receive, but if you don't see what you're looking for, please contact us directly!

How do I stay connected?

The best way to stay up-to-date on all things Lakeshore Kids is to sign up for our weekly email newsletter!

We also encourage parents to join our private Facebook group so you can connect with other parents and the Lakeshore Kids team.

How does Lakeshore Kids keep my children safe?

All Lakeshore Kids team members complete a thorough application process and must pass a background check. Additionally, our secure check-in process ensures that children are only released from classrooms to a parent or guardian with a matching security tag. As part of the check-in process, we require a phone number so that we can reach you in the event of an issue.

Lakeshore's Security and First Aid teams further ensure that you, your children, and our church remain safe and secure to provide the best environment for your family to seek God and grow together.

What if I want to stay with my kids?

We understand some parents may feel the need to remain with their children while at church, whether in the classroom with your child, or keeping your child with you in the main service in our auditorium. Please know that we are willing and comfortable with welcoming kids who are struggling to separate from their parents.

If you're newer to Lakeshore, you are more than welcome to stay with your children in the Lakeshore Kids classrooms. Just let a team member know you'd like to stick around!

If you'd like to keep your kids with you during the main adult service, you are certainly welcome to do so. If you need some extra space for you and your family, we've reserved a section of seating in the back so you can quickly exit the auditorium if you need to.

You can also make use of our family viewing area in the atrium, designed for families with young children who may not be ready for Lakeshore Kids classrooms yet. The service is broadcast in this area for your convenience.

Can I pre-register my kids?

You sure can!

One of the best benefits of pre-registering your kids ahead of time is you'll save time when you arrive at Lakeshore. Normally, you'd have to manually enter your information and your child(s) information at one of our check-in kiosks. While this is a fairly simple process, it'll be one less thing you have to do on Sunday morning.

PRE-REGISTER YOUR KIDS

What if my child has special needs?

If you have a child with special needs, please know we welcome you and would love the opportunity to serve your family in Lakeshore Kids. At this time, we are not able to provide 1:1 assistance for kids with special needs, but we will partner with you as a parent to meet the needs of your children, as much as we are able.

We understand you may have questions specific to your family situation and your child's needs. We encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

What will my child learn in Lakeshore Kids?

We firmly beleive we're called to share about God's love with everyone, including your kids. The Bible is the most amazing book ever written, and we strive to bring its stories to life through creative activities and discussions that keep kids engaged. Here's an overview of what your child will learn about when they join us in Lakeshore Kids:

  • The God who loves them more than any other
  • Biblical truths they can apply and stand on for the rest of their lives
  • What it means to be a Christ-follower and how to grow in a relationship with Him
  • How much fun they can have at church!

Everything we do in Lakeshore Kids, from lessons to play and everything in between, aligns with Lakeshore's beliefs as a church which you can learn more about here.

LAKESHORE KIDS
Parent & Child
Dedication

As a parent, you can set a strong foundation and direction for your parenting journey by taking part in Parent & Child Dedication.

It gives you the opportunity to present (or "dedicate") your young child to God in a special brief ceremony. It's a commitment between you as a parent and our entire church to support your child in growing up to know and love the Lord.

Can my baby be baptized?
The Bible teaches that baptism is designed only for those old enough to express a personal faith in Jesus Christ. Since infants can't do that, we do not baptize them. We further ask that kids wait until they're at least 10 years old before pursuing baptism at Lakeshore.

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."
