Reaching People Where They Are
The Communications Director plays a critical role in helping Lakeshore Community Church fulfill its mission by shaping how we communicate the message of Jesus—both within our church and beyond it. This ministry exists to remove barriers, create clarity, and extend invitation. Every email, post, webpage, and campaign becomes an opportunity to help someone take a next step toward Christ.
This role goes beyond managing content—it’s about building a unified voice that reflects who we are as a church. By developing strong systems, leading creative teams, and collaborating across ministries, the Communications Director helps ensure that everything we say and create is aligned, intentional, and impactful. Through this work, we create environments where people feel seen, welcomed, and drawn into what God is doing at Lakeshore.

Strategy
The Communications Director will lead a clear and intentional strategy that brings alignment, consistency, and effectiveness to every message across the church. By building strong systems, prioritizing communication, and leveraging data, this role ensures we reach people clearly and move them toward meaningful next steps.
Leadership & Relationships
This role works closely with staff and ministry leaders to bring clarity to vision and strengthen communication across every area of the church. The Communications Director will also build and develop teams, fostering a healthy, collaborative culture where people feel valued, equipped, and aligned with the mission.
Creative & Media
The Communications Director will oversee all creative and media expression, ensuring everything we produce reflects excellence and aligns with Lakeshore’s voice and mission. Through thoughtful storytelling and purposeful content, this role will create communication that connects with people and points them toward Jesus.

THIS COULD BE YOU.

They are a strong communicator, a collaborative teammate, and a self-starter who takes initiative. They bring a spirit of humility and teachability, a passion for continuous growth, and a deep desire to use their gifts to serve the church and advance its mission.
You'll find all the details, requirements, and more in the full job description.
Advancing the Mission
This role directly contributes to Lakeshore’s mission by making it easier for people to understand, engage with, and respond to what God is doing. Through clear communication and intentional strategy, the Communications Director helps remove confusion, increase engagement, and create pathways for people to take meaningful next steps.
By aligning messaging and strengthening how we communicate across every platform, this role ensures that the mission is not just stated—but experienced. Every touchpoint becomes an opportunity to help someone move closer to Christ.
A Heart for the Lost
At Lakeshore, we are deeply committed to reaching those who are far from God, and this role carries that same heartbeat. The Communications Director will approach every message, campaign, and piece of content with the understanding that it may be someone’s first step toward faith.
This requires empathy, intentionality, and a willingness to see communication through the eyes of those who are skeptical, disconnected, or searching. With a genuine love for people and a passion for the gospel, this leader will help ensure that everything we communicate reflects the grace, truth, and invitation of Jesus.

Our vision is to help people discover and develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
It's a place where people can be real, strengthen their relationships, and make an impact in our world.

OVER 30 YEARS OF MINISTRY
CHURCH FOR THE UN-CHURCHED AND THOSE FAR FROM GOD.
How does the church reach people who may be interested in God but not necessarily in church? How does God's truth change people's lives?
Those two questions are the driving force behind why Senior Pastor Vince DiPaola (pictured in black shirt) and his family decided to start Lakeshore Community Church in 1994. Rochester, NY is in desperate need of a church like Lakeshore, with less than 10% of people in the area identifying as Christian.
Today, Lakeshore has grown to the mid 800’s in weekly attendance, with a beautiful 40,000+ square foot facility in the heart of Greece, NY, a sprawling subrub of Rochester. 50% of first-time visitors at Lakeshore identify as "not Christian."
The community truly views Lakeshore as a place for non-church types. It's common to hear stories of other church's members inviting their friends to Lakeshore instead of their own church because they believe it's a safer environment for their friends to hear the Gospel and get plugged into church.
Moving forward, Lakeshore desires to continue being a driven, smart, and family friendly church. They lead with down-to-earth teaching, make the depth and beauty of the gospel accessible, all while compelling people to grow deeper in their walk with Christ. You can read more about our beliefs and statement of faith here.
Our mission is to reach people who are indifferent towards Christianity and turn them into difference-makers who are fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ in our church.

rochester, ny
Rochester is the third largest city in New York, following Buffalo and New York City. The Rochester region— encompassing surrounding suburbs in Monroe County—is home to some 800,000 people. The area is frequently named one of the best places to live, largely do its plethora of things to do, very affordable housing, great schools, and cultural scenes.
This community is looking for something to believe in. Rochester is a mission field, as local churches struggle to gain the credibility to speak into the lives of the locals. With less than 10% of the population identifying as evangelical Christians, this is a community that will step into church with little knowledge about Christianity.
DO, EAT, SEE, + MORE
