Lakeshore Friends—

I think our summer series has been off to a fantastic start, and the mantra that keeps coming to the surface is the idea that emotions should act as indicators and not guides.  So true!  When we allow our emotions to drive our decisions, that’s when we find ourselves in trouble.

But this begs the question…what happens when we are past that?  What happens when we either miss or ignore the indicators, or did use them as guides, and now we are stuck, overwhelmed, and feeling hopeless?  Enter the reality of depression.  As someone who has struggled with depression all my life, I am all too familiar with it.  But through a lot of prayer, support and professional help, I have learned that while we may never be able to fully defeat it, we can absolutely deal with it.  King David was someone who struggled too.

Can’t wait to see you this Sunday at 9 or 11 as we dig into this!

Lakeshore Friends—

Our summer series is off to a fantastic start! So far we’ve tackled anger and fear, but let me ask you a question…what do we do with rejection? We have all faced it at one point in our lives, and are sometimes rejected by people we never thought would do that. Rejection can truly be a crippling thing to experience and can lead to all sorts of emotional troubles.

That’s why this week we are going to talk about Redirecting Rejection. There is way to redirect it, especially if we know that the rejection is because we are doing what God is asking of us.  Make sure you don’t miss out on the next part of our summer series, “Upping Your Emotional I.Q.,” on Sunday at 9 and 11am.

Hope to see you then!

Lakeshore Friends—

The reaction to the Upping Your Emotional IQ series has been nothing short of encouraging after just one week.  All the pastors felt strongly that this series would be well received, but I never expected so many texts, emails, and comments from people who recognize the wrongful place they’ve allowed ungodly anger to have in their lives.

This Sunday we’ll be looking at the emotion fear.  While fear is not an emotion that we often enjoy, it is incredible how many people allow it to drive and consume their lives.   In this week’s message we’ll unpack how unhealthy fear causes problems with our health and draws us away from God, and we’ll give you some tools to help you face your fears together with God.
