For The Children, The Church, The Commission
Finishing Well, part 5 of 5
The ultimate reason why we do what we do as Christians is to bring honor to God. Three great ways in which we honor God are by doing what we do for children, because they are the next generation of adults who God will use, the church, because it is the bride of Christ and the instrument God uses to communicate the Good News to the world, and finally the Commission which is God’s command that we go to the entire world and share the Good News until every single person has heard about Jesus Christ and how faith in Him alone brings eternal life. The Finishing The Work campaign is all about our children, our church and the Commission to reach people who need Jesus Christ. If we can succeed in finishing the work, we will succeed in helping these three C’s and bring more glory and honor to God which has always been the mission of LCC.

Why We Must _”Finish The Work“_ Of God
I) WE MUST FINISH GOD’S WORK FOR THE __CHILDREN__!
1) …So we invite them to ___FAITH IN CHRIST___.
“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on My behalf is welcoming Me.”
(Matthew 18:5, NLT)
2) …So we encourage them to ___GROW IN CHRIST___.
“…bring [children] up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
(Ephesians 6:4b, NIV)
3) …So we teach them to ___REPRODUCE CHRIST___.
“We will not hide [God’s teaching] from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done… He commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God…”

II) WE MUST FINISH GOD’S WORK FOR THE __CHURCH__!
1) …Because Christ gave His ___LOVE TO THE CHURCH___.
“Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her… for we are members of His body.”

2) …Because Christ gave his ___ALL FOR THE CHURCH__.
“Remember the generosity of Jesus Christ…”

3) …Because Christ inspires us to _SACRIFICE FOR THE CHURCH_.
“…offer your lives as a living sacrifice to God…When you think of what He’s done for you, is this too much to ask?”

III) WE MUST FINISH GOD’S WORK FOR THE _COMMISSION_!
1) …By doing all that ___CHRIST COMMANDED US TO DO___.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

2) …By being all that __SPIRITUAL SEEKERS NEED US TO BE__.
“Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews, I became a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I have become like I have become like one under the law… so as to win [them]… To those not having the law I became like one not having the law…so as to win [them]… To the weak I became weak, to win the weak.
