One of the most incredible attributes of God is that He is faithful. God can be trusted and relayed upon with all our hearts and He will not break them. We can trust Him with our lives, and He won’t abuse it. He never let’s us down because He is faithful. Because God is faithful, we can trust Him and rely on Him for all we need in life. He will never let us down. When we know God personally through Jesus Christ the scriptures teach that when we are faithless, He will remain faithful because He can never deny His own. We will explore God’s faithfulness and how it impacts our lives and how we can have confidence and trust that with God, we can do all things.

“Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” (Psalm 57:10, NIV)

I) UNDERSTANDING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

1) God is completely faithful in ___WHO HE IS___.

“You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you.” (Psalm 89:8b, NIV)

2) God is totally faithful in ___WHAT HE DOES___.

“For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.” (Psalm 33:4, NIV)

3) God is absolutely faithful in ___WHAT HE PROMISES___.

“…nor will I ever betray my faithfulness. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.” (Psalm 89:33b-34, NIV)

4) God is consistently faithful even ___WHEN WE AREN’T___.

“If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” (2 Timothy 2:13, NIV)

*God’s faithfulness means
He will NEVER LET US DOWN.

“For God has said, ‘I will never fail you, I will never forsake you.’ That is why we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5b-6, NLT)

II) RESPONDING TO GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

*God’s faithfulness begs the question,
“Are we willing to TRUST HIM?”

Three areas that prove our trust in God’s faithfulness

1) Can you trust God when __LIFE DOESN’T MAKE TOTAL SENSE_?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, NAS & LB)

2) Can you trust God when __STRESS THREATENS YOUR PEACE_?

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever…” (Isaiah 26:3-4a, NIV)

3) Can you trust God when ___HE ASKS YOU TO SACRIFICE___?

“Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, ‘Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ he replied. Then God said, ‘Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.’ Early the next morning Abraham got up… He took..his son Isaac.” (Genesis 22:1-3, NIV)

“Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, ‘Father?’ ‘Yes, my son?’ Abraham replied. ‘The fire and wood are here… but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?’ Abraham answered, ‘God himself will provide the lamb… “ (Genesis 22:7-8, NIV)

“But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, ‘Abraham! Abraham!… Do not lay a hand on the boy,’ he said. ‘Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.’” (Genesis 22:11-12, NIV)

*You’ll never know God’s faithfulness until
you ___REALLY TRUST HIM FOR YOURSELF___.

“The one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.” (1 Peter 2:6b, NIV)
