Dare You To Dive In
Living Beyond Myself, part 3 of 4
Up to this point in the series we have helped people understand that it is worth the gamble to give your life away by serving others. We have also learned that every Christian is a priest and has an ability to minister to others, but until you actually apply that information and jump into the serving game that will only be a vague theory. In this message we’ll talk about how people can dive into serving and dive into living beyond themselves by exploring different ministries at the church. This service will point people to the ministry expo area and only be about 55 min. to 1 hour in length . Our hope is that at the end of this message people will, as the scripture reading says, taste and see that the lord is good by trying a first serve opportunity in ministry and then giving the ministry a full shot.

I. Preparing to jump in
It takes faith to jump in the “serving pool”.
“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. “ (Hebrews 11:1, NLT)
“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him! “ (Ps. 34:8, NLT)
II. Jumping right in
1. It takes the right dive to jump in the “serving pool”.
“God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other..” (1 Peter 4:10, LB)
2. It takes the right desire to jump in the “serving pool”.
” Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” (Psalm 37:4, NLT)
“If you try a ministry and it doesn’t work out, it was an
experiment. If it does work, it was a stroke of genius!”
III. Swimming strong
1. It takes diligence to swim in the “serving pool”.
“It is impossible to please God without faith… He rewards those who sincerely seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6, NLT)
2. God promises to reward all who swim in the “serving pool”.
“Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.” (John 13:17, NIV)
