Obey your thirst
Fizz: Carbonated Christianity, part 2 of 2
People are constantly trying to fill their lives with relationships, activities, material items, work, etc to satisfy the deepest thirst of their souls. Unfortunately none of this will ever quench it because only God can provide that thirst quenching satisfaction. We will take a look at Jesus’ encounter with the woman at the well and see how he saw through her soul to reveal what she truly needed to quench her thirst, and shook her up so that she had an impact on others around her..

1. What’s in your “bottle”?
We all thirst for something.
a. Physical thirsts.
b. Intelectual thirsts.
c. Social thirsts.
d. Emotional thirsts.
e. Spiritual thirsts.
We all have tried to satisfy our deepest thirst with ” Artificial flavors & sweeteners “, but these will never provide lasting satisfaction.
2. Let God “Shake things up”.
a. Jesus knows our Deepest thirst before we do.
“Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.” (John 4:13–14a NIV)
” O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.” (Psalm 139:1–4 NIV)
b. Jesus wants us to identify our deepest thirst.
“Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” (John 4:10 NIV)
“The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.” He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” “I have no husband,” she replied.” (John 4:15–17 NIV)
c. Only Jesus can truly satisfy our deepest thirst.
” But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.” (John 4:14a NIV)
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” (Psalm 42:1–2 NIV)
Obeying our deepest thirst means spending time with God, knowing Him more, and living for Him.
3. Let God “Open you up”.
a. Let God “open you up”, so you can experience

“Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” (John 4:39 NIV)
“Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14b NIV)
