Cory Hunneyman —
Student Ministry Pastor

I grew up near Syracuse, NY and throughout middle school and high school was actively involved in the youth ministry of my home church, watching God use it to play an enormous role in my spiritual formation. As a junior in high school I began to think about being an athletic trainer for the Philadelphia Eagles (the guy that runs out on the field when someone gets injured, trying not
to trip).

But over the course of a few months and after a few people close to me gently pushed, I began to consider ministering to God in the context of pastoral ministry. I graduated from high school in 2001, and then in 2005 from Baptist Bible College (Clarks Summit, PA) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Bible. I married my college sweetheart, Shanna, in May 2005, and then jumped right into youth ministry as the Middle School Youth Pastor at Second Baptist Church in Auburn, NY. In February 2008 I came on staff here at Lakeshore as the Student Ministries Pastor. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, goofing off, going indoor rock climbing, or playing a pickup basketball game.
