Herb Lawrence —
Associate Pastor of Administration and Pastoral Care

In 1994, God gave me a big wake-up call that led me on a search to re-establish our relationship. Through a series of events, I met Pastor Vince in a karate locker room and about two month later — August 1997 — he invited me to Lakeshore (at the Marriott). My wife and I accepted his invitation.

In October 1997 we attended New Horizons 101 and on that night I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and asked Jesus to come into my life as director. In January 1998 we were both baptized and in February 1998 we became members of Lakeshore Community Church.

I began serving as an intern in June 2000 until October 2001 when I came on staff as Administrative Director and until January 2005 served as a Trustee, and led many projects including the building project, capital campaign follow-up and small groups. In December 2002 I was licensed as a minister of the gospel for Lakeshore Community Church.

In January 2005 I began to transition to my passion, Pastoral Care, and currently oversee the Care Community of Lakeshore (CCL), Celebrate Recovery and Lay Counseling. I provide Pastoral Counseling, lead the LCC Pre-marriage class and Baptism orientation. God is fulfilling my dream of a ministry that will provide the full scope of care for LCC members and attenders – counseling, crisis intervention, recovery, and care needs. On November 30, 2006 I was ordained to the work of the Gospel Ministry.

I have a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas, an MBA from RIT, and a Master of Divinity from Northeastern Seminary. My wife Jan and I have been married since October 1964 and have five married sons and 13 grandchildren. We like drag racing, camping and traveling. I also serve as on-call chaplain Unity Hospital. We both love serving the Lord through Lakeshore.
