Let’s Finish The Work Together!
When Lakeshore Community Church began in 1995, the last thing we were thinking about was building a facility. Frankly, it was hard enough to afford a place to rent! Fortunately, we’ve come a long way since then.
In 1999, through Possess The Promisedland (PPL), we purchased our 36-acre property. In 2002, we held A Place To Call Home (PCH) campaign to help us have enough to construct our first facility, the 21,400 sq. ft. building we moved into on June 13, 2004. In 2005, we experienced our third three-year campaign through Home Improvements (HI) so that we could equip our facility, pave the parking lot, supplement our facility mortgage payments, and construct the final building that would complete our “phase one” campus development vision— The Lakeshore Community Center (or The “LC2” ). In 2008, we begin a new three-year campaign called Finishing The Work (FTW) that will help us have the financial resources to build the 18,600 sq. ft. “LC2” addition to our original facility. It features space that our current facility is either missing or is bottlenecked with including four additional classrooms, an Atrium expansion to nearly triple our current size (including the Waves Café), a full-service Kitchen, and the 7,200 sq. ft. Multipurpose Area that will serve a variety of needs. You can view all the details in the FTW Brochure and the incredible “virtual facility tour” video that are available below.
Because HI fell short of the financial goals we set, construction costs rose sharply, and the scope and size of the “LC2” increased over the past two years, this FTW campaign will help us (financially and spiritually) be ready to build the “LC2” in Spring 2009 and move in by Fall 2009.
The hope and prayer of the leaders of our church is that we all pull together to meet this need. This is the time for all of us (not just a select few) to give sacrificially as a church family—for our church, our children, the community, and the commission. Our prayer must be, “Lord, what do You want to do through me to accomplish Your will for Lakeshore?” If we all do that, I know we will have what we need.
