Counseling Referrals

From time to time, people need help and perspective on their problems.  While God is always desirous of being the One who helps us in all our distress and with all of our needs, He sometimes chooses to use the help and wisdom of others to “counsel” us with His wisdom to gain insight.

Lakeshore Community Church has a part in this process.  Our Encouragement Ministry is a non-fee, short-term (10 sessions max), biblically based peer and encouragement team for Lakeshore members and attenders.  The team members are non-professional volunteers who are trained in listening, clarifying and assisting in goal setting, offering assistance to one’s personal, marital or family needs based on biblical principles.  However, longer term counseling is best met by a professional.  Lakeshore strongly recommends that any formal counseling come from a reputable, Christian (biblically-based) counselor or  counseling center.

Often we are asked for these counseling “referrals”.  With that in mind, we have provided this sheet to include the names of some Christian-based counselors.  These resources are not given as a substitute for your own careful investigation and are not a guarantee that any will be right for you.  However, they all have demonstrated a level of Christian commitment in their approach to helping clients solve their problems with God’s help.  They’re provided below:
