*The New Year reminds us that we can either TAKE CONTROL or BE CONTROLLED by our future.

To “Take Possession” Of Your Future…
(Joshua 1:1-11)

I) DEVELOP A MEANINGFUL _GAME PLAN_

“Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people get ready to cross the Jordan river.. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.’…So Joshua ordered… the people ‘Get your supplies ready’.”
(Joshua 1:2-3,11a)

“Don’t go charging into battle without a plan.”
(Proverbs 20:18, TEV)

*Before you can get a hold of your future, you need to _GET A LOOK_ at your future.

“A wise man thinks ahead; A fool doesn’t, and even brags about it!”
(Proverbs 13:16, LB)

*My dreams for 2010: “What would I do with my life if I knew I couldn’t fail?”

II) DETERMINE A CAREFUL _ACTION PLAN___

“Be careful to obey all the Law… do not turn from it to the right or the left that you may be successful wherever you go.”
(Joshua 1:7)

“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
(Joshua 1:8) (see also 2 Timothy 3:16‐17)

Plans without actions belong to _DAYDREAMERS_. Plans with actions belong to _VISIONARY ACHIEVERS_.

*Your future is controlled by either FEAR OR FAITH.

“As soon as the priests stepped into the river, the water stopped flowing and piled up…”

*My trust in God today: “Where am I at in my journey to God’s promisedland?”

“Then Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow God will do amazing things among you!’”
(Joshua 3:5)
