I) THE HOLY SPIRIT: RESISTING HIS PASSION

Have I Ever Said, “No” To The Holy Spirit?

a) Have I invited God to enter thru my FRONT DOOR?

(Have I become a Christian yet?)

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
(Romans 10:13, NIV)

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
(John 14:26, NIV)

b) Are all the ___FIRE DOORS___ in my house open to God?

(Have I given control to God in every area of my life?)

“Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.”
(Romans 6:13, NIV)

c) Is my ___BACK DOOR___ unlocked, for God to open anytime?

(Am I willing to share my faith when God wants me to?)

“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ…”
(Colossians 4:3, NIV)

II) THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE “IT” FACTOR

* People who have “IT” eagerly ___SAY YES___ to the Spir-IT’s passion

“Do not put out the Spirit’s fire.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:19, NIV)

III) SAYING YES TO THE SPIR-IT’s PASSION

Letting the Spir-IT’s passion work in your life

a) Learn to ___TRUST GOD___ completely.

“I know, O LORD, that a man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.”
(Jeremiah 10:23, NIV)

“Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?”
(Galatians 3:3, NIV)

b) Learn to ___DISCERN AND LIVE OUT___ God’s will daily.

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
(Romans 12:2, NIV)

c) Learn to ___SHARE YOUR FAITH___ passionately.

“Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
