Espresso Yourself, part 7 of 7

PDFDownload the notes.

I. Why We Love Coffee Shops

1. We appreciate the coffee “Pick Me Up”.
2. We relish the relaxing Atmosphere.
3. We enjoy the personal Conversations.
4. We often love the People We Go With.

II. Christian Coffee Shop Living

“God has called every Christian to live the “coffee shop” life by replicating the relationships we share over coffee with a relationship that shares the Good News of Christ.

How?

1. By Expressing a compelling view of Christ.

You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as useless.” (Matthew 5:13, NLT)

2. By Living-Out a captivating life for Christ.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Niether do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. (Matthew 5:14, NIV)

III. Opening Your Own Coffee Shop

A Proven Spiritual “Business Plan”
(Collossians 4:2-6)

1. Pray passionately for the coffee shop plan to succeed.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 4:2, NIV)

2. Extend quality personal service to every customer.
“And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.” (Colossians 4:3, NIV)

3. Never Drift from God’s original “Business Plan”.
“Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” (Colossians 4:4, NIV)

4. Offer meaningful opportunities to every customer.
“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” (Colossians 4:5-6, NIV)

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16, NIV)

“I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.” (Philemon 6, NIV)
