Life – Change: God’s “Miracle Grow” Plan

God: Satisfaction Guaranteed, part 6 of 6
David said surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. What David is saying is that God’s love changes people’s lives. We have all experienced how the love of a parent, friend, co-worker, neighbor, or fellow Christian has touched us and helped us change and grow and respond with a life that is different and improved. In this talk we will talk about how Gods love changes lives and how God’s love in effect does what Miracle Grow does to plants. If gives it a growth boost. We will provide principles on how God’s love miracle grows our everyday life. Pastor Vince DiPaola

I. The force and source of life-change

1. The greatest force for life-change is love.

“There are three things that will endure— faith, hope, and love— and the greatest of these is love.” (1Corinthians 13:13, NLT)

2. The surest source for life–change is God’s love.

“Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:6, NIV)

II. How god’s love leads to life-change

God’s “miracle grow” plan

1. God’s love provides solid soil:

Personal security to handle the winds of fear.

“God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in Him. Love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear , because fear has to do with punishment. The man who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:16b-19, NIV)

2. God’s love provides necessary nutrients:

Power to grow healthy and bear fruit.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love , just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love… My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. No one has greater love than the one who lays down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command .” (John 15:9–10, 12–14, NIV)

3. God’s love provides steady sunshine:

perpetual fresh starts to overcome dark despair.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning ; great is Your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.’” (Lamentations 3:22–24, NIV)

4. God’s love provides well-needed water:

promised eternal life for sin-dried spirits.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life . For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16–17, NIV)

“Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him , so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught . Let your lives*overflow with thanksgiving for all He has done* .”
(Colossians 2:7, NLT)
