Latest “FTW” Update!
Volunteer Update
It looks like we will not be ready to start the ceramic tile work or the suspended ceiling grids until next week. So that leaves us with just the painting of a part of the building on Saturday, October 3. As a result, please note that unless you were specifically called, we won’t need you to be at church this Saturday, October 3. Sometimes we try to anticipate the need in advance (so we can complete the building) and aren’t quite ready yet. But please know that volunteers will be needed from here on out for weekends and very soon during the week days as well. We will announce the volunteer need every Sunday, starting this Sunday at church. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. We will need lots of people really soon.
The Building Exterior And Dry Wall Nearing Completion
The Lakeshore Community Center is looking more and more like a finished product! If you’ve been at church in the last few weeks, you see the progress that’s being made.
On the outside, the brick, glass windows, and exterior doors are in place. Inside, the current Atrium has been boarded up where it meets the new Atrium area behind that wall. The dry wall is almost all up. The Student and Children’s rooms have had a primer applied to their finished walls and starting from there and moving down the courtyard hallway into the Atrium, the dry wall is being finish coated progressively in that direction.
In the Multipurpose Room, the metal roof is being finished and will be followed by the final membrane roof surface. The block inside the Multipurpose Room is being finalized and within the next couple of weeks the concrete floor will be poured in it.
The large new patio that will exist in front of the LC2 will be poured in sections over the coming days. And the final grade of the site will eventually follow that.
As we get closer to the completion of the LC2, we have a team of people working to plan how we spend money to furnish the LC2. Because all the financial giving to the “Finishing The Work” campaign will not come in until the end of 2011, we will be prioritizing purchases for the inside furnishings as more money comes in over the next two years.
Thanks to God and your generous financial support for “Finishing The Work”, we are able to finish this project. In addition to the new building itself, your faithfulness is helping us pay the new mortgage increase, cover unexpected cost increases due to changes (which always occur with any building project), and pay for furnishings which will total somewhere well over $100,000. So much is at stake so thank you for your generosity and faithfulness. If you were not a part of the “FTW” campaign and would like to find more, please contact us for a campaign packet including a free copy of the book, “The Treasure Principle” by Randy Alcorn.
Let’s finish the work together… for our children, our community, our church, and the great commission.

Warmly,
Pastor Vince
