The Walls And Roofs Are Going Up!
We’re over half way through the construction process and many great developments are happening with the Lakeshore Community Center (LC2). With great weather, all the concrete floors have been poured and finished (except for the Multipurpose Area which will happen later in August). The Multipurpose Area has nearly three of the four sides of the block walls built up to their final height of over 20 feet. Steel has been set for all the support spaces (Atrium, Kitchen, Classrooms and Bathrooms) and the metal studs are going up. The roof decking is finalized in these areas as well.
In addition to the main structure, the 40 × 40 foot storage building located behind the Multipurpose Area has had its concrete floor poured. We will build this building on our own later this year.

What’s happening next on the LC2?
The roof over the support areas will be finished with a unique roofing system material. The brick will start to go up along the exterior after the wall boards are installed. Steel will be hung across the Multipurpose Area and the concrete floors in that room will be poured in phases. The back wall of the building will go up.
We’re also looking into a design for the open air courtyard (exists between the Multipurpose Area and the Room 110/Bathroom area). We want this to take on an inspirational, feel where we can talk, reflect and pray. Our plans are super big for this area, so stay tuned on the details!
And soon the fun will begin as volunteer efforts will be needed. You’ll hear more about how you can get involved at church in the coming weeks. If you’re available to help with simple routine things (weekdays or weekends) please sign up at the Information Center.
