The LC2 Foundation Is Complete!
After nearly two months of construction, the foundation for the Lakeshore Community Center (LC2) is complete. Thanks for your prayers because God has allowed great things to happen, including very good working weather. Digging trenches that are many feet below ground level, concrete footers were poured all around the perimeter of the key areas outside and inside the structure. From there, concrete block is laid on top of the footers and built up to a level that is just below the final ground level.
In addition to the main structure, you’ll also notice the 40 × 40 foot storage building located behind the Multipurpose Area and the stone service road that loops around the entire building. It will eventually be paved and connected to the current service road (which will also be widened). Check out the latest pictures below.
The electrical transformer was moved from the construction site to its new location on the west side of the building on Monday, June 22. Now construction can occur unhindered in the new building area.

What’s happening next on the LC2?
Starting on Monday, June 29 plumbers will begin laying their lines in the ground. Soon the ground will be all leveled within the building as the space alongside the foundational walls in the ground are backfilled with dirt on both sides. Soon you’ll start to see the first sign of structural elevation occur as the block for the Multipurpose Area begins to be laid. In the weeks ahead, the in-floor radiant heating system of tubes will be laid in the ground along with plumbing, electrical and other materials and then the concrete foundation floor will be poured.
Things are getting exciting as the LC2 begins to take shape and rise from the ground. In a matter of months, we’ll be able to enjoy a facility that will nearly double in size.
Soon we’ll need some volunteer help for the first time. If you’re available to help with simple routine things (weekdays or weekends) please sign up at the Information Center at church and you’ll be contacted as volunteer opportunities arise. We need lots of people to do various tasks.
