The LC2 Construction Begins With Groundbreaking Event!
On Sunday, April 19 we held the Groundbreaking event for the Lakeshore Community Center (LC2) with hundreds of hot dogs, cold people, and warm memories.
Joined by Pastors and dignitaries from the town, county, and state, we celebrated this event with remarks about what Lakeshore has meant to people and what it will mean when the LC2 is completed. Along with hot dogs, people received a commemorative soil container and the opportunity to write something on a Time Capsule Form that captures their dream for themselves and LCC in the year 2020, when Lakeshore will open the capsule and share the contents at the 25th anniversary service (April 2020).
Below you’ll find some pictures of the event. The event was also covered by R-News and the Democrat & Chronicle on Monday, April 20: Click here to read the article
On Monday, April 27 construction began on the LC2. You’ll see the site being prepared for the first major milestone, the pouring of the concrete for the building foundation. We’ll include pictures during the construction process.
How can you get involved?
1) Pray for the weather to be cooperative in these critical early days and that we complete construction by early October.
2) Volunteer to help. We need lots of people to do various tasks. Contact the church office or find out more each week at church about the opportunities available.
3) Support the “Finishing The Work” campaign with your financial gifts. The price tag on the construction is higher than we originally forecast so every commitment is critical. If you were not a part of the “FTW” campaign and would like to find more, please contact us for a campaign packet including a free copy of the book, “The Treasure Principle” by Randy Alcorn.
Let’s finish the work together… for our children, our community, our church, and the great commission.

Warmly,
Pastor Vince
