Pulling together for Home Improvements

Home Improvements

As we celebrate our 10th year of existence as a church in 2005, we have a chance to complete the first phase of God’s plan for Lakeshore with Home Improvements.

Begun in 2002 with A Place To Call Home (PCH), we experienced the most exciting project undertaken at Lakeshore—completing our first building on the 36 acre parcel we purchased in February 2001. We moved in much like a new family moves into their first house: with just barely enough to “get in,” but with additional needs still outstanding to fully “settle in.” Now, we want to finish the work God gave us to do… together!

Home Improvements is about completing the four key projects that we were unable to complete with PCH. Those projects include:

  1. Paying off the outstanding balance on the parking lot paving done this past Summer
  2. Purchasing much needed technology, equipment and furnishings needed by many teams
  3. Supplementing our current mortgage payments with income not available in general giving
  4. Perhaps most notably, construction of a 12,500 square foot “Lakeshore Community Center”

The hope and prayer of the leaders of our church is that we all “pull together” to meet this need. This is the time for all of us (not just a select few) to give sacrificially as a church family—for our own benefit and for the needs of people in the community who will discover God’s love at Lakeshore. Our prayer must be, “Lord, what do You want to do through me to accomplish Your will for Lakeshore?” If we all do that, I know we will have what we need for these projects.

Join my family and many families and single-adults all across Rochester as we pray about the future of Lakeshore. And thank you, in advance, for your willingness to give and your commitment to be a vital part of what God is doing at Lakeshore. I can’t wait to celebrate our commitments to Home Improvements as they come in on November 20.

Let’s finish the work the Lord gave us… together! For our children, for our community, and for our church.
